About the Role

As an Engineer II specializing in Antenna Technology at Honeywell Aerospace, you will contribute to the design and development of advanced Defense antenna products supporting Electronic Warfare systems for land, sea, and air. Your work will also support the broader aerospace business, leveraging your expertise in electromagnetics for aperture design, simulation, development, and testing. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to meet customer requirements and drive innovative solutions, reporting directly to the Antenna Engineering Manager at our Lansdale, PA location.

The Lansdale site has over 75 years of experience developing antenna products and subsystems for defense applications, featuring state-of-the-art test facilities including anechoic chambers, a compact range, near-field scanner, outdoor ranges, specialty test stations, load chambers, and high-power test facilities for environmental testing. Antenna products developed here range from 3 MHz to 110 GHz, spanning narrowband patch antennas to 50:1 broadband antennas for low- and high-power applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and model RF/Microwave antennas and elements from 3 MHz to 110 GHz using tools such as HFSS, ADS, AWR, CST, GRASP, WIPL, and MATLAB.
  • Develop and fabricate various antenna types, including microstrip, horn, spiral, dipole, blade, patch, reflector, interferometers, and AESA antenna elements, including product qualification and production support.
  • Support a wide range of antenna products and subsystems (CNI, munitions, missile, electronic warfare, situational awareness, interferometers, AESA, etc.).
  • Design, analyze, and test RF/Microwave antennas, hybrids, feed structures, filters, and elements for diverse applications.
  • Document design elements, antenna test procedures, and support mechanical engineering for design/drafting and reliability/maintainability (R&M) engineering.
  • Set up and conduct operational testing and evaluation of engineering hardware in a laboratory environment.
  • Travel less than 10% to support production, customer meetings, trade shows, and other site-related activities.
  • Prepare and present materials for customer support meetings such as Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs).

Requirements

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Academic coursework in electromagnetics, RF, and/or antenna theory.
  • 3+ years of experience in RF/Microwave antenna design.
  • 3+ years of experience with antenna simulation software (HFSS, CST, GRASP, WIPL, MATLAB).
  • 1+ year of experience with RF measurements, including VSWR, insertion loss, phase, coupling, pattern, and gain measurements.
  • Proficiency with standard PC applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

We Value:

  • Advanced degrees in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in RF/Microwave antenna design and simulation software (HFSS, CST, GRASP, WIPL, MATLAB).
  • Hands-on experience with RF measurements (VSWR, insertion loss, phase, coupling, pattern, gain).
  • Knowledge of RF system considerations (path loss calculation, cascade noise figure, intercept point).
  • Familiarity with RF materials and military documentation/configuration control.
  • Strong analytical, test, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and work in cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, systems, R&M engineers).
  • Experience documenting technical information for performance compliance, white papers, and technical proposals.
  • Strong presentation skills for internal and customer-facing meetings.

Due to U.S. export control laws, candidates must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or have protected status under asylum/refugee status).

Benefits

  • Employer-subsidized medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, and health savings accounts.
  • Employee assistance program and educational assistance.
  • Parental leave and 12 paid holidays.
