Reverse Sort Lab Tech

About the role

As a Reverse Sort Lab Technician, you will be part of a world-class team advancing animal genetics and agriculture worldwide. You will work under the supervision of the Lab Manager to operate several sorting units, perform daily production tasks, and ensure sterility and semen quality.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for all scheduled shifts and communicate professionally with all team members.
• Work independently and operate and maintain sorting units.
• Operate lab computers for data entry and participate in daily production of sexed semen.
• Perform daily job duties including sorter startup, calibration, sort setup, and shutdown.
• Ensure proper sorter cleaning, sterilization, and bacterial testing.
• Use sterile techniques to avoid contamination.
• Use various software applications for data assembly, manipulation, and formatting.
• Comply with universal safety precautions to protect yourself and colleagues from biohazardous materials.
• Maintain inventory levels and store materials according to established policies.
• Stay updated on vendor and supplier information relevant to laboratory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 2+ years’ related experience or equivalent education
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work any shift, including evenings, nights, and weekends
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access
