Position Summary
The Revenue Cycle Optimization Analyst will provide operational and analytical support to revenue cycle optimization initiatives, focusing on collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data related to revenue cycle performance.
Responsibilities
- Operational Support
- Aid in documenting existing workflows and revenue cycle processes to support optimization reviews.
- Contribute to the tracking of departmental and cross-functional initiatives by maintaining logs or summaries.
- Support the deployment of revised workflows by preparing documentation, reference guides, or education materials.
- Aid in meeting preparation by preparing agendas, taking minutes, ensuring action items are completed, and escalating follow-ups to Optimization leadership as needed.
- Conduct basic follow-up with departments or internal stakeholders to collect data or verify implementation status.
- Aid in troubleshooting issues during project execution and propose data-supported solutions.
- Contribute to the development of training and onboarding materials for project team members.
- Participate in pilot testing of new processes and tools to ensure smooth deployment under the direction of Optimization leadership.
- Provide administrative support for project logistics, such as scheduling meetings and other project-related needs or activities.
- Support teams in adhering to best practices and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies.
- Maintain version control and filing systems for process documents, guidance materials, and tools.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Conduct routine data analysis to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for process improvement in revenue cycle workflows.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators to support data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and maintain recurring reports and data dashboards in alignment with defined templates.
- Absorb and report on metrics such as denial rates, billing errors, or charge capture performance.
- Compile and distribute performance reports on a regular basis to inform stakeholders.
- Prepare summary reports and visual dashboards to provide actionable insights for management.
- Analyze the effectiveness of project tools and resources and provide recommendations for enhancements.
- Work with IT and data teams to enhance data reporting capabilities.
- Support leadership with preparation for presentations and high-level meetings.
- Compliance
- Ensure adherence to compliance standards, including HIPAA and payer contract requirements.
- Stay informed of industry trends and regulatory updates that impact revenue cycle processes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of audit tools to track compliance with project goals.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment by following all relevant guidelines and policies.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in data analysis, project support, or revenue cycle management.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experience with data visualization tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Must successfully pass systems training requirements.
- Experience working in a healthcare or financial environment.
- Knowledge of Epic or similar electronic billing systems.
- Familiarity with project management software and methodologies.
- Experience in creating reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools.
