About the role

Revenue Cycle Medical Billing - Claim Status Medicaid EOB Review position is responsible for timely follow-up of payments and denials on claims filed to traditional Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care plans along with accurate documentation of the actions taken.

Responsibilities

  • Complete follow-up of claims on a timely basis according to the productivity guidelines for account follow-up goals.
  • Meet daily and monthly departmental production goals set forth by the supervisor to ensure that the company is achieving its financial goals.
  • Review and analyze claim denials to determine if an appeal is necessary for reimbursement.
  • Identify, document, and communicate trends in recurring denials. Recommend process improvements or system edits to eliminate future denials.
  • Review system generated work list and aged reports to resolve accounts which have not been paid.
  • Review payment denials and discrepancies identified through explanation of benefits, remittance advices, or payor correspondence and take appropriate action.
  • Document all account activity in an accurate and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English
  • Minimum of 1 year, full-time, medical billing experience
  • Minimum of 50 words per minute (typing)
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Must possess empathic and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information

Qualifications

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months of work in a call center environment
  • Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience
  • Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to records

Preferred Education:

  • High school diploma
  • GED
  • Or significant, relevant work experience

Pay

Hourly compensation: $17.50 (this position is bonus eligible).

Schedule

Training Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Central, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
