Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the Revenue Cycle department, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within established service levels.
- Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 15 revenue cycle professionals.
- Assign and prioritize workloads while maintaining high levels of productivity and quality.
- Monitor key performance indicators, including accounts receivable, denial rates, reimbursement trends, aging, and productivity metrics.
- Analyze operational and financial reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce revenue leakage, and improve overall financial performance.
- Partner with clinical, operations, finance, credentialing, and other departments to resolve revenue cycle issues and improve workflows.
- Oversee the resolution of complex billing, claims, payment, and payer-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, payer, and organizational billing requirements.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Prepare reports and communicate revenue cycle performance and recommendations to leadership.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellent customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including billing, claims, collections, denials, and reimbursement.
- Minimum of 2 years of people management experience leading a healthcare revenue cycle team.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold employees accountable for performance.
- Experience hiring and training team members and leading operational improvements.
- Strong understanding of medical billing, reimbursement methodologies, denial management, accounts receivable, and payer operations.
- Proficiency with electronic health record and practice management systems, along with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading revenue cycle operations in a multi-site healthcare organization.
- Experience in urgent care, primary care, or ambulatory healthcare.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle analytics and key performance metrics.
- Experience implementing workflow improvements or process optimization initiatives.
Schedule
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This is a salaried, exempt position and may require flexibility based on business needs.
