What You Will Do

  • Manage Data Analysis & Quality Assurance for PFS Departments
  • Support Hospital Billing & Collections, Professional Billing & Collections or Support Services
  • Assist with operationalizing KPI metrics activities
  • Pull data from source systems, create analytic summaries, ensure data validity/accuracy
  • Manipulate data & perform analysis using Microsoft Excel and other analytic tools
  • Create standard reports using EPIC reporting and Slicer Dicer
  • Identify payor trends and summarize to management
  • Document findings and root cause(s)
  • Analyze productivity/production standards
  • Create various dashboards to assist with monitoring department performance
  • Support internal projects by initiating, leading, and resolving data investigations
  • Gather relative documents from payor websites to stay current
  • Document and disseminate operational policies and procedures, document workflows as needed
  • Resolve system issues and process improvements within CHOP financial systems and related PFS sub-systems
  • Support leaders in department led committees, meetings, projects
  • Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge by reviewing materials
  • Participate in Coding department meetings and educational events
  • Provide professional analytical services to optimize business performance
  • Perform analysis of chart completion and identify opportunities, trends, and recommended enhancements
  • Aid in special projects and other roles as needed

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years work experience in a healthcare finance, accounting, billing, business role/environment

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, data connections, advanced formula use, presentation and graphics)

  • Ability to work independently and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Ability to implement procedural changes and monitor progress

Licenses and Certifications

  • Preferred: Certified Patient Financial Services Specialist - Hospital Business Institute
  • Preferred: Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) - Healthcare Financial Management Association
