About the role
The South Dakota Department of Revenue seeks a Revenue Agent to assist citizens and taxpayers in understanding and complying with South Dakota tax laws. This position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Educate taxpayers on SD tax laws and regulations.
- License new businesses and educate them on tax laws.
- Collect taxes from delinquent taxpayers.
- Work with various stakeholders including certified public accountants and tax attorneys.
- Participate in department-wide initiatives to improve tax collection processes.
- Navigate and reference South Dakota State tax laws to answer taxpayer questions.
