Revenue Agent 2 (in-training) - Bothell - Spanish Speaking

About the role

The Department of Revenue's (DOR) Compliance Division is seeking a Spanish-speaking Revenue Agent 2 (RA2) in-training to advance to the RA2 position in Bothell, WA. The position involves interacting with Spanish-speaking claimants in writing and over the phone, earning an additional 5% assignment pay for fluency in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and locates delinquent taxpayers using database searches, the internet, and third party resources.
• Takes collection action against non-compliant taxpayers, including issuing tax warrants, bank/wage garnishments, and revoking business registration certificates.
• Conducts fieldwork and investigation on delinquent accounts at taxpayer places of business, job sites, and residences.
• Records contact histories and taxpayer information throughout the process on appropriate agency systems.
• Assists taxpayers/representatives with business registration, guidance on completing tax returns, and contacting other agencies when necessary.

Qualifications

• Proven written and verbal communication skills to educate taxpayers on filing requirements, payment obligations, and departmental processes.
• Demonstrated ability to independently research, analyze, and evaluate complex financial information.
• Experience using investigative research tools, online databases, and third-party information sources.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex state tax laws and legal documents.
• Structured interviewing and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

Pay

The salary listed for this position does not include the 5% premium pay for positions based in King County.

Schedule

If hired at the Revenue Agent 2 in-training level, your pay will be within the salary range 45 ($4108.00 - $5506.00).
