Revenue Accountant
Pay rate: $50.00–$55.00/hr.
About the role
The Revenue Recognition Strategy Manager will support monthly and quarterly revenue recognition processes, including Standalone Selling Price (SSP) analysis and reporting. This role is responsible for supporting SOX compliance activities, assisting with revenue systems projects, and serving as a subject matter expert in revenue recognition. The position partners with Finance, Product, Sales, Business Technology, and external vendors to evaluate and support evolving business models, new go-to-market initiatives, and revenue recognition requirements. This individual will work in a fast-paced environment and report to the Director of Revenue Recognition.
Responsibilities
- Review SSP calculations and support enhancements to operational processes as business needs evolve.
- Identify and address gaps in revenue recognition policies, procedures, and controls resulting from new sales initiatives and go-to-market strategies.
- Research technical accounting topics and prepare technical accounting memos related to new accounting guidance, non-standard transactions, and business models.
- Prepare presentations for management and external auditors on complex and technical accounting matters.
- Support revenue management system projects, upgrades, and integration activities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate technical revenue recognition considerations related to new deal structures, pricing strategies, packaging changes, and partnerships.
- Improve existing revenue recognition processes and identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
- Support the development, maintenance, and execution of SOX compliance activities and controls.
- Perform ad hoc financial and revenue-related analysis as needed.
- Support revenue operations within revenue management systems, including SSP-related activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of combined public accounting and/or industry finance experience with a focus on revenue recognition.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- Experience supporting and maintaining SOX compliance processes and controls.
- Experience researching technical accounting matters and drafting accounting policies and technical accounting memoranda.
- Experience managing projects, including planning, status tracking, reporting, and coordination of deliverables.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex topics to various audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple business functions.

Pay
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $50.00–$55.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law.
