Return to Work Coordinator

About the Role

The Return to Work Coordinator is dedicated to assisting injured workers as they navigate the Return to Work process. You'll play a vital role in helping individuals move forward with confidence by providing medical management, case management, and coordination of care.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical management to workers' compensation injured employees.
• Performs case management through telephonic contact with medical providers, employers, claims professionals, and ancillary service providers.
• Manages medical care to return injured employees to pre-injury status.
• Reviews services of medical and rehabilitation providers and arranges for and coordinates appropriate evaluation, treatment, and counseling.
• Communicates with physicians, injured workers, employers, referral sources, and other resources involved in the worker's rehabilitation program.
• Evaluates home care services, equipment, and determines the need for home modifications.
• Coordinates home care and explores light-duty, modified, or alternate employment as necessary.
• Analyzes treatment results, medical status, and reviews incoming provider reports.
• Identifies suitable employment opportunities consistent with the individual's medical limitations, capabilities, aptitudes, and interests.
• Generates reports and correspondence to communicate case status, findings, and recommendations.
• Participates in case conferences, internal and external training to enhance and maintain medical proficiency.
• Documents case management observations, assessments, and plans in the system.

Qualifications

• Degree from an applicable program of training and a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Active Registered Nursing license or equivalent within the state of practice or states in which Case Management is performed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Worker's Compensation experience.
• Strong clinical or medical background.

Skills

• Knowledge of managed care, criteria, guidelines, and national standards of practice.
• Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Computer literacy and good time management skills.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to work.
