About the role

The National Returns Center Manager oversees the receipt, processing, and storage of returned goods, ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and customer expectations. This role also involves managing staff performance and participating in distribution center management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the receipt, processing, and storage of returned items, ensuring they meet company objectives.
  • Interacts with manufacturer partners to ensure compliance with their return standards.
  • Maintains a database of manufacturer return policies and supports product recalls.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for all returns inquiries and resolves issues promptly.
  • Collaborates with internal partners and vendors to handle returns, including AP and Purchasing.
  • Communicates discrepancies and follows up on approval requests.
  • Ensures pedigrees returns are documented correctly and returned according to vendor policy.
  • Maintains the morgue, ensuring systematic accounting and adherence to vendor policies.
  • Participates in distribution center management team meetings and develops action plans for improvement.
  • Conducts daily status meetings and observes staff performance.
  • Manages returns staff, including performance evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of three years of management experience in warehouse or production environments, with one year of receiving experience or inventory control.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and computer skills.
  • Experience in distribution processes (receiving, shipping, and inventory control).
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Travel ability essential for overnight trips as needed.
