Retirement Technician Supervisor
About the role
The Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) is seeking a Retirement Technician Supervisor within the Agency's Bureau of Benefits Administration (BBA).
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Guide staff performance, assign tasks, and provide support to help staff reach their goals.
- Workflow Oversight: Review work processes, improve procedures, and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Staff Development: Coach team members, identify training needs, and provide opportunities to build skills.
- Data Accuracy: Verify information requests, review member account data, and ensure correct and timely responses.
- Collaboration: Work with the Retirement Administrator and other PSERS bureaus to solve problems and improve results.
Requirements
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Retirement Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Three years of experience in technical work in a pension system or related occupational area, which includes two years of experience applying mathematical formulas and principles; or An Associate Degree and one year of technical experience in a pension system or related occupational area applying mathematical formulas and principles; or An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which includes two years of experience applying mathematical formulas and principles in a pension system or related occupational area.
- Other Requirements: Must meet the PA residency requirement.

Work Schedule and Additional Information
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- After training period is completed, selected candidate will be able to adjust their starting time.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. This position will require you to be in office full-time for at least the first week for training. After the first week, this position will be required to report to the office 1 day a month, and any additional days depending on operational needs.
- If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
