We are seeking a highly organized, independent, and proactive individual with strong written and oral communication skills to serve as a Retirement Research and Policy Manager within the Retirement Division of the State's Treasurer's Office.
Responsibilities
- Primary staffing of the Supplemental Plans, including defined contribution plans, deferred compensation plans, a single deposit investment account, and the municipal retiree health savings plan.
- Management of retiree health insurance plans, primarily for the Teachers system.
- Financial and professional-level review work.
- Collaboration with System actuaries to analyze trends.
- Oversight of contracted entities providing support to the systems.
- Analysis of legislative proposals.
- Serve as secretary (or backup) for three defined benefit retirement boards.
- Organize monthly meetings for each retirement board and other ad hoc meetings.
- Work with data from multiple sources to produce analysis, forecasts, and visually appealing summaries.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher and three (3) or more years of experience in planning, policy analysis, or public administration.
- OR five (5) or more years of experience in planning, policy analysis, or public administration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in policy, public administration, law, or a related field.
Environmental Factors
- Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting.
- Interaction with state and federal officials and organizations may be required.
- Must be adaptable and able to work within tight deadlines and under considerable stress.
- Some evening and weekend duty may be necessary.
