Retention Specialist
Position
The Retention Specialist for the Career Access Program will play a pivotal role in ensuring the long-term success and job retention of participants enrolled in the Career Access Program.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop individualized retention plans for each participant, focusing on overcoming barriers to job retention and career advancement.
- Collaborate with participants to set goals for career advancement and provide guidance on achieving those goals.
- Provide ongoing one-on-one support to participants to address challenges related to their work environment, personal circumstances, or skill development.
- Monitor participants' progress post-placement, conducting regular check-ins to assess job satisfaction and overall well-being.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with employers who have hired program participants, offering guidance on accommodating employees with disabilities.
- Identify and resolve barriers to retention, such as workplace challenges, skill gaps, personal issues, or conflicts between the participant and employer.
- Participate in outreach efforts to expand the program’s network of employers and community partners who are committed to hiring and retaining individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications
- Associate degree or 60 college credits courses in the human services field, or high school diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant experience in workforce development.
- A demonstrated verbal and written communication ability, including basic computer skills.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
