Retail & Tour Associate - Part-Time & Special Events

About the Role

Seltzer's Smokehouse Meats is looking for an enthusiastic Retail & Tour Associate to join our team on a part-time and occasional event basis. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys engaging with people, creating memorable customer experiences, and representing a historic local brand.

Reporting to the Outlet Store Supervisor, the Retail & Tour Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of our retail store and Smokehouse Experience Tour program.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner
• Ensure shelves, coolers, and displays remain fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing
• Operate the point-of-sale system, process purchases, and handle cash and credit card transactions
• Price merchandise and assist with inventory management
• Help customers select products that best fit their needs
• Process, print, and package online eCommerce orders
• Lead guests through the Seltzer's Smokehouse Experience Tour when scheduled
• Assist guests with tour waivers and provide engaging information about Seltzer's history, Lebanon Bologna production, and food safety practices
• Maintain all food safety and food defense standards
• Support seasonal promotions, company events, and other special activities as needed

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required
• Friendly, outgoing, and energetic communicator
• Comfortable speaking to groups and providing guided tours
• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Dependable with excellent customer service skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift products as needed
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday), with flexibility to work weekdays
• Occasional special events, tours, holidays, and peak business periods

Schedule

• Primarily scheduled on weekends
• Additional hours available for: Smokehouse Experience Tours, company-sponsored events, holidays, seasonal promotions, and peak retail periods
• Typical shifts range from 4 to 8 hours, depending on business needs

Pay

This is an hourly position with a pay range of $20.11 per hour, based on experience.
