About the role
Russell Tobin is partnering with a nationally recognized specialty retail and consumer brand to hire an experienced IT Retail Lead. This organization operates a large network of customer-facing retail locations across the United States and is known for delivering premium in-store experiences through a blend of exceptional products, hospitality, and technology.
Responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert for retail store technology across U.S. locations.
- Lead the support, optimization, and enhancement of retail IT systems, including POS platforms, store hardware, peripherals, and network infrastructure.
- Partner with business leaders, store operations teams, and technology stakeholders to identify and implement solutions that improve operational efficiency.
- Manage and deliver retail technology projects, including upgrades, deployments, refreshes, and new initiatives.
- Oversee vendor relationships and collaborate with external partners to maintain service quality and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot complex store technology issues and drive root-cause analysis and resolution.
- Develop standards, documentation, and best practices for retail technology operations.
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of retail technology environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supporting retail store technology environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with retail POS systems and related store technologies.
- Deep understanding of retail network infrastructure, connectivity, and store support operations.
- Experience supporting multi-location retail organizations within the U.S.
- Proven project management experience leading cross-functional technology initiatives.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical execution.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting specialty retail, hospitality, food service, restaurant, or consumer-facing retail environments.
- Background managing technology for organizations with distributed retail locations.
- Experience with vendor management, IT service management processes, and technology modernization efforts.
- Familiarity with retail technology integrations, payment systems, and customer-facing technologies.
Skills
