Retail Technician (CDL) *Class B CDL- $5K sign on bonus

Clean Harbors in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Class B Driver (Retail Technician) to provide comprehensive environmental services, including collection and disposal of damaged, discarded, or recalled products; recycling of light bulbs, oil, oil filters, engine fluids and other materials; and on‑site cleanup activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the number‑one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Pick up, pack, and transport damaged, discarded, and recalled goods.
• Load, pack, and segregate materials and waste products for safe transportation.
• Drive a box truck to retail customer sites, interacting with customers at each stop.
• Prepare DOT shipping documents and use a laptop, printer, handheld device, and iPhone to complete tasks.
• Execute jobs at Clean Harbors customer locations, including Fortune 500 companies, in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies.
• Finalize preparation and approval of all projects before shipment, ensuring compliance with drum count, condition, and packaging requirements.
• Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and corporate operating guidelines.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, state, and federal requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to use a laptop, handheld device, printer, and iPhone.
• Eligible to obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire (company‑paid).
• Physical ability to perform job functions.
• Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical.
• Compliance with OSHA respiratory protection facial‑hair standards (if respirator required).
• Preferred: previous commercial driving experience, route experience, and manual‑labor experience.

Pay

Hourly rate $24–$25 plus a $5,000 sign‑on bonus.

Schedule

• Two‑week out‑of‑state onboarding training academy required after hire.
• Overnight shifts 1–4 days per week, depending on customer demand.
