Retail Team Manager
About the role
Join Swedish Match North America LLC as a Retail Team Manager. This role is critical to the high-performing sales team, managing all sales and executional functions within the assigned geography including retail sales, account management, and wholesaler sales.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute effective business plans at accounts assigned to him/her.
- Oversee and manage appropriate routing and call coverage of team members to ensure proper execution of distribution and merchandising objectives.
- Analyze business building opportunities and develop executional plans for his/her geography to accomplish company, region, and district goals and initiatives.
- Manage operational data collection from team to ensure timely reporting of retail and account metrics to Market Sales Manager.
- Provide on-going development feedback and support to team to address opportunities adhering to Performance Management principles and standards.
- Collaborate effectively with BDM and SAM/KAM to ensure alignment of executional objectives within market in service of providing appropriate direction to TSMs.
- Strive for operational excellence with efficient & effective use of resources.
- Collaborate and actively engage with Talent Acquisition in recruitment process for new TSMs in accordance with company recruiting and selection guidelines and policies.
- Develop and ensure alignment of personalized development plans for direct reports based on Sales Competency Model.
- Provide ongoing coaching to support team development in accordance with Performance Management standards and principles and Sales Competency Model.
- Communicate with Impact consistently with team, cross-functional partners, and his/her customers.
- Create a culture that fosters cooperation, credibility, candor, consistency, acting with integrity, and a commitment to exceptional performance across the team and with cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 3-5+ years of retail sales, wholesale grocery, or route sales required.
- Strong planning, organizational, leadership, coaching, and teamwork skills required.
- Strong verbal and written presentation skills required.
- Strong analytical skills in service of understanding complex data to develop actionable initiatives to address business opportunities required.
- Strong understanding and utilization of resources such as: Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MSA data, Salesforce (MAFs, store lists, trade programs, campaigns, customer contact information, authorized items), Syndicated data, Fluent in English.
- Likewise, legally authorized to work in the U.S.
