In partnership with store leadership, work alongside store associates providing daily direction, communication, and training to execute daily action plans in accordance with Vera Bradley’s objectives and standards. As a Team Leader (also referred to as a Key Holder), you will be responsible for opening and closing the store, leading the team to reach sales goals, and providing an amazing shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Set high standards and motivate the team to create an exceptional shopping experience.
- Exceed sales goals, build store traffic, convert guests, and promote campaigns and contests to drive brand awareness and lasting customer relationships.
- Act as a Brand Ambassador by consistently modeling and upholding Vera Bradley Core Values.
- Assist the leadership team with planning, implementing, and maintaining visual merchandising brand standards.
- Support store operational duties including inventory, ordering, training, Fussy Matrix, guest communications (emailing and calling), and opening/closing procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between store associates and store leadership to foster a fun and collaborative work environment.
- Maintain awareness of loss prevention by promoting a culture of honesty and connecting store associate engagement with shrink reduction.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent (strongly preferred).
- Prior retail experience (strongly preferred); prior management experience (strongly preferred).
- Experience in specialty retail (strongly preferred).
- Experience with retail POS systems (a plus).
- Dependable with open availability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong desire and ability to serve customers and solve problems.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and promote a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Polished, polite, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Constant walking and standing; frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to work with strong fragrances and scents (e.g., eau de toilette, candles, bath and shower gel, body lotion, hand cream, and bar soap) throughout the workday.
- Strong sensory skills, including good eyesight, hearing, and dexterity.
- Ability to consistently lift 10–35 lbs; occasionally lift up to 55 lbs with the ability to push or pull more than 55 lbs.

Pay
Base pay range: $13.51 – $20.24 per hour. Starting pay: $17.00 per hour. Vera Bradley’s compensation ranges are based on market data and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations. Individual pay within the listed range depends on work location.
