Job Summary
Retail Team Lead (RTL) for the Donated Goods Program (DGP) at Goodwill Houston. This position supports the store and donation area operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective management under the supervision of the Store Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
- Maintain open availability to assist the store with management and leadership needs.
- Help manage the Safety Program and communicate clear company goals to the team.
- Accurately complete sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities.
- Aid in the training and development of associates.
- Ensure proper handling and processing of incoming donation flow.
- Operate store systems and ensure financial and statistical counts are completed.
- Support the timely rotation of apparel and hard goods according to Goodwill Houston policies.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.

- Must comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Management experience is preferred.
- At least one (1) year of retail sales experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Good computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office).
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for current or future employment.

- Customer Service (Feedback from team, secret shopper, and donor ratings for assigned district)
- Change Round up as a % of Transactions (>30% and higher than the previous year)

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Regular twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and, occasionally, lift/move items up to 100 lbs. (e.g., large bags of donations, televisions, furniture, etc.)
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Moderate indoor noise with periodic exposure to outside temperatures.
