About the role
Assist with the day-to-day operations and management of the store and donation area. Ensure efficient and cost-effective operation through world-class customer service, processing donated goods, quality control, and maintaining a productive workforce.
Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day store operations in the absence of Store Manager (SM) or an Assistant Store Manager (ASM).
- Open and close the store as required.
- Adhere to the established rotating schedule unless otherwise directed or approved by the District Manager.
- Maintain open availability to assist the store with management and leadership needs, including time frames outside of the management rotating schedule if needed.
- Help ensure the Safety Program is being managed efficiently.
- Communicate clear company goals to the team, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities at POS registers/safe.
- Assist with the training and development of associates when needed.
- Ensure the proper handling and processing of incoming donation flow in and out of the store by utilizing proper equipment according to GWH policies and procedures.
- Accurately operate all store systems and ensure financial and statistical counts are completed (donor counts, production standards, etc.).
- Ensure the timeliness of proper rotation of apparel and hard goods according to GWH policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as directed by management to support evolving organizational needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Management experience is preferred.
- At least one (1) year of retail sales experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to understand safety instructions, standard operating procedures, and workplace communications.
- Good computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office).
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for current or future employment.
