Retail Supervisor

About the role

The Retail Supervisor at Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington supports the management team in overseeing the daily operations of the store. They lead and train retail associates, ensuring excellent customer service and handling workplace issues.

Responsibilities

• Assign, guide, coach, and train employees while performing the work of a Sales Associate as needed.
• Schedule and assign employees to complete retail operational requirements.
• Set expectations, instruct, coach, and identify training needs.
• Maintain orderly operations of the store in the absence of the Manager and Assistant.
• Resolve workplace problems by addressing issues that impact employee performance and productivity.
• Ensure excellent customer service is provided to customers and donors.
• Prepare reports by collecting, documenting, and summarizing information.
• Complete projects by planning, organizing, and monitoring assignments.
• Provide excellent internal/external customer service.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; report any potential hazards or accidents.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill’s policies and applicable laws.
• Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; monitor performance; reward and discipline employees; and address complaints and resolve problems.
• Partner with People Relations as needed and appropriate.

Position Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalency but not required.
• 2 years’ experience with retail and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• 2 years’ customer service/retail experience.
• 1 year supervisor experience preferred.
