Retail Supervisor

About the Role

Supervises Retail Sales Floor activities to ensure that goals are met. Serves as “Supervisor in Charge” of the entire facility at times. Responsible for assuring a high level of guest and donor service and ensuring Easterseals-Goodwill policies and procedures are uniformly enforced and followed. Requires cross-training in all aspects of Goodwill operations and responsiveness to changing priorities, including the ebb and flow of donations and the need to efficiently move goods through processing and retail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Retail Sales Floor activities to meet organizational goals.
• Serve as “Supervisor in Charge” of the facility when required.
• Ensure high levels of guest and donor service.
• Enforce Easterseals-Goodwill policies and procedures.
• Cross-train and assist in all aspects of retail operations.
• Respond to changing and unpredictable circumstances, including donation volumes and operational needs.
• Show initiative and adapt to shifting priorities.

Requirements

• Sensitive to guest needs and wishes.
• Ability to work effectively with people with disabilities or other special needs preferred.
• Computer experience with competency in internet use and various software applications.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, monetary, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate with staff and guests.
• Completion of a background check required; criminal convictions do not automatically bar employment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
• Physically and mentally able to perform all job requirements.
• Able to lift and carry 20-100 pounds with team lifting or mechanical assistance.
• Able to stand, stoop, bend, or carry for extended periods.
• Able to stand and walk for the entire shift.
• Tolerance to extreme changes in temperature and humidity.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends, or longer shifts if needed.
• May be required to work more than 40 hours per week.

Experience

0-2 years of previous experience.
