About The Position

With over 430 retail stores worldwide, our Store Leadership Teams play a crucial role in driving our business. They ensure effective store operations and procedures while guiding team members to create memorable consumer experiences and support the company’s mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.”

As a Retail Supervisor, you will be part of the Store Leadership Team, providing leadership and direction to diverse associate-level team members in an assigned area of responsibility. You will foster a positive environment, uphold high professional standards, and demonstrate Columbia Sportswear Company values.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day work of associate-level staff, providing direction, training, and coaching to ensure efficient operations and adherence to store procedures
  • Supervise an assigned department, managing profitability through receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing inventory
  • Maintain store culture through teamwork and coaching, leading by example
  • Collaborate with the store leadership team on policies, procedures, and standards for assigned areas
  • Uphold company standards and policies, ensuring employees adhere to procedures and quality standards while resolving any issues

Requirements

  • No specific education required (High School Diploma or GED preferred)
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar position or specialization
  • Proficiency in operating a Point of Sales (POS) system, in-store computerized systems, and telephone
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with the store leadership team, associates, and consumers

Job Conditions

  • Frequently active environment requiring constant movement
  • Physical or strenuous tasks, including adjusting/moving items up to 40 lbs.
  • Possible use of specialized equipment and exposure to dust and noise
  • Occasional need to work in varying locations
  • Clear communication with team members and customers
  • Flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally based on business trends or forecasts
  • Adherence to all local, state, and federal laws regarding availability
