Retail Shortage Control - Part Time

About the role

As a Shortage Control Associate (SCA), you will contribute to a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service. Your role directly impacts the store's security and the overall shopping experience by mitigating theft and creating a safe, enjoyable atmosphere. You will engage with customers and associates in a manner consistent with company core values, providing confident, friendly, and energetic interactions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance at all times, adhering to designated dress standards, including radio and earpiece.
• Stand positioned at the front of the store, remaining vigilant and aware of your surroundings.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting to promote a sense of control and security.
• Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft, shoplifting, and other dishonest activities.
• Possess knowledge of top shortage areas and support programs aimed at theft reduction.
• Effectively communicate information about theft prevention during store rallies, collaborating with the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates to ensure adherence to safety and security standards.
• Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
• Role-model safety as a top priority and address any unsafe practices promptly.
• Identify and report theft incidents and/or suspicious subjects to your Manager on Duty.
• Understand and communicate the role you play in keeping the store and its assets safe and secure.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while visually monitoring the store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to review, analyze, and comprehend business trends.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and co-workers.
• Strong leadership skills to foster productive business relationships.
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision-making.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Pay

Base Pay: $13.00 per hour.
