Retail Shortage Control - Part Time

About the role

As a Shortage Control Associate (SCA), you will contribute to a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service. Your role directly impacts the store's security and the overall shopping experience by mitigating theft and creating a safe, enjoyable atmosphere. You will engage with customers and associates in a manner consistent with company core values, providing confident, friendly, and energetic interactions. Your discipline, awareness, and commitment to safety and security standards will be critical in monitoring store entrances and high-risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance at all times, adhering to designated dress standards, including radio and earpiece.
• Stand positioned at the front of the store, remaining vigilant and aware of your surroundings.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting to promote a sense of control and security.
• Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft, shoplifting, and other dishonest activities.
• Possess knowledge of top shortage areas and support programs aimed at theft reduction.
• Effectively communicate theft prevention information during store rallies, collaborating with the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates to ensure adherence to safety and security standards.
• Understand and communicate your role in keeping the store and its assets safe and secure.
• Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
• Role-model safety as a top priority and address any unsafe practices promptly.
• Identify and report theft incidents and/or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while visually monitoring the store environment.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to review, analyze, and comprehend business trends.
• Exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and co-workers.
• Strong leadership skills to foster productive business relationships.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Pay

Base Pay: $15.00 per hour.
