Retail Shortage Control - Part Time

About the role

As a Shortage Control Associate (SCA), you will contribute to a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service. Your role directly impacts the store's security and the overall shopping experience by mitigating theft and creating a safe, enjoyable atmosphere. You will engage with customers and associates in a manner consistent with company core values, providing confident, friendly, and energetic interactions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance and command presence at store entrances, exits, and high-risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and friendly greeting to promote security and control.
• Monitor the store entrance for the entire duration of every shift, focusing on reducing theft, shoplifting, and dishonest activities.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates to ensure adherence to safety and security standards.
• Support training for associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
• Role-model safety as a top priority and address unsafe practices promptly.
• Communicate theft prevention information during store rallies and collaborate with the Manager on Duty.
• Build trust and respect among customers and associates through expertise in shortage reduction programs.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations (preferred).
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while visually monitoring the store environment.
• Strong communication skills with customers and co-workers.
• Excellent leadership skills to foster productive business relationships.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with disciplined decision-making.
• Maintain confidentiality and analyze business trends.
• Exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Pay

Base Pay: $14.00 per hour.

Schedule

Regular part-time, with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
