Retail Shortage Control - Part Time

Location: 1937 Star Shoot Pkwy, Lexington (Store #00428) – Regular Part-Time

About the role

As a Shortage Control Associate (SCA), you’ll help create a secure and welcoming shopping environment. Your presence at store entrances, exits, and high-risk areas will reduce theft and enhance the overall customer experience. You’ll engage with customers and associates in line with company core values, using a confident, friendly, and energetic approach to build trust and respect while maintaining safety and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance, wearing designated dress standards, radio, and earpiece.
• Stand vigilantly at the front of the store, monitoring surroundings and greeting every customer with a warm smile and loud, friendly greeting.
• Promote a sense of control and security to reduce opportunities for theft, shoplifting, and dishonest activities.
• Master knowledge of top shortage areas and support theft-reduction programs.
• Communicate theft-prevention information during store rallies and collaborate with the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates to ensure adherence to safety and security standards.
• Train associates on shortage-reduction programs and processes, role-modeling safety as a top priority.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty.
• Address unsafe practices promptly and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations (preferred).
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while visually monitoring the store environment.
• Strong discipline, awareness, and commitment to safety and security standards.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and coworkers.
• Leadership skills to foster productive business relationships.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with focused and disciplined decision-making.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
