About the role

The ideal Salesperson is passionate about fashion and styling and has the ability to cultivate and grow a customer following, both digitally and in-store. A day in the life includes:

• Setting and achieving sales goals, for both in-store and digital selling with effective use of selling tools (inclusive of text and social media)
• Building lasting relationships with customers
• Providing the best service to customers on their terms
• Giving honest and confident feedback to customers about style and fit
• Seeking fashion and product knowledge to build expertise
• Working with the team to keep the department customer-ready, including filling orders, stocking, re-merchandising, price markdowns, and light cleaning
• Growing relationships by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts

Responsibilities

• Set and achieve sales goals for both in-store and digital channels
• Build and maintain customer relationships
• Provide exceptional customer service tailored to individual preferences
• Offer style and fit guidance with confidence and honesty
• Stay updated on fashion trends and product knowledge
• Collaborate with the team to maintain a customer-ready department
• Open new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts
• Perform tasks such as filling orders, stocking, re-merchandising, price markdowns, and light cleaning
• Occasionally perform work/duties in a department other than the one hired into

Physical Requirements

• Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, which includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds

Pay

$17.25 - $17.25 Hourly

Commission varies based on merchandise sold. Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically range from 3% to 14.5%. Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales roles typically receive 3% commission.
