About the role

Pet Food Express Sales Consultants are the heart of our business. You’ll proactively engage with customers and recommend products that meet their needs. From highlighting products to working the cash register and stocking shelves, you’ll ensure every customer has an enjoyable, friendly, and informative shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Proactively approach and engage with customers (both two-legged and four-legged) to understand their needs and build lasting relationships.
• Use the Pet Food Express Whole Life Approach to provide tailored recommendations that help customers live their best possible lives with their pets.
• Participate in daily training and continuous educational programs to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
• Stay up-to-date about new products, promotions, and the pet community.
• Educate customers on product benefits and help them find solutions for their pets' unique needs.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to ensure smooth operations and strong team collaboration.
• Operate the cash register efficiently and provide a friendly checkout experience.
• Unload shipments, stock the store, and perform heavy lifting (up to 35 pounds) using appropriate techniques.
• Clean and maintain the store by sweeping, mopping, and handling pet messes as needed.
• Support overall store operations by performing additional duties as assigned.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, to meet business needs.
• Climb and balance using a ladder and/or step stool, and continuously stand, walk, bend, stretch, and engage in repetitive motions throughout your shift.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience and pet experience is preferred but not required—we value potential over experience.
• A passion for pets and a desire to help pet parents find the best solutions.
• A sales-driven attitude with a desire to exceed goals.
• A warm and welcoming personality with a strong customer service mindset.
• Eagerness to learn and participate in daily educational activities.
• Dependable and reliable with strong attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 35 pounds using proper lifting techniques and following safety rules.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $19.20 - $20.20 per hour. Starting salary is determined based on local market rate, candidate skills and experience, internal compensation practices, and budget constraints.
