Retail Sales Associate - Fly Shop (West Location)

About the Role

North 40 Outfitters in Spokane, WA (West Location) is looking for a Part-Time Fly Shop Associate to join our team. As a Fly Shop Associate, you play a key role in the overall customer experience by providing outstanding customer service, generating sales, suggesting products, stocking and merchandising, maintaining a clean and organized department, and safeguarding company assets.

This position requires the ability to work all scheduled shifts between the business hours of Mon-Sat 7 am to 8 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. This shift can include working weekends and certain holidays and will require flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service and generate sales
• Suggest products to customers based on their needs
• Stock and merchandise products effectively
• Maintain a clean and organized department
• Safeguard company assets
• Educate and assist customers on the brands that North 40 sells
• Demonstrate various fly fishing techniques and train others to fly fish

• Familiarity and knowledge of fly fishing equipment, fly tying, basic knots, and local fishing areas
• Previous merchandising experience is helpful
• Understanding of correct lifting and loading techniques

Requirements

• Physical ability to lift and carry 0-25 lbs. continuously, 25-45 lbs. frequently, and 45-65 lbs. occasionally; team lift anything over 65 lbs.
• Spend 100% of work time on your feet, including use of ladders, rolling staircases, and pallet jacks
