This role goes far beyond just being a cashier. Here, the customer is at the heart of everything we do—every day, all day. You’ll also help keep the shopping space clean, organized, and inviting so every customer feels welcome the moment they walk in.
Responsibilities
- Begin each day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals and top-selling items, and staying up to date on current trends and promotions.
- Engage with customers through warm welcomes, eye contact, and friendly conversations to build relationships and drive repeat visits.
- Maintain a shoppable space by recovering the sales floor and fitting rooms, updating signs and pricing, and supporting merchandise moves.
- Achieve daily sales goals through customer engagement and smart selling behaviors.
- Acquire new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty program benefits.
- End customer interactions by sharing loyalty program benefits, ensuring customers have everything they need, and offering a sincere thank-you.
- Support teammates with honesty, care, and collaboration to better serve customers and communities.
- Strive for continuous improvement, take pride in your work, and contribute to individual and store results.
Schedule
Flex Team Colleagues have minimum work requirements of 42 hours per quarter during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fiscal quarters (February–April, May–July, August–October). During the 4th fiscal quarter (November–January), you will be required to work a minimum of 60 hours. While you have an hours requirement by quarter, you are not required to pick up shifts (though you may be assigned shifts during key days). The minimum number of hours may be subject to change, and a minimum number of weekend shifts may be required.
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English.
- Comfortable communicating and collaborating with customers and colleagues.
- Resourceful, adaptable to changing priorities, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Comfortable using electronic devices, including handheld equipment, cash registers, and processing register transactions.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
- Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 25 lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Reaching, including above eye level.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
