About the role

We are currently looking for a Full-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our Team! The hourly rate is $17.13 to $18.22, with an easily achievable commission structure that pays up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $2.18 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Responsibilities

The Pawnbroker/Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging, and interacting with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales and loan activity and transactions.

• Greet and interact with all customers to develop a rapport to better help provide and recommend appropriate financial solutions
• Perform non-management open/close procedures
• Keep sales floor clean, stocked and maintain display of merchandise
• Perform sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices and regulatory requirements
• Handle all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices and regulatory requirements
• Independently receive, evaluate, lift, carry, move, and secure customer merchandise as part of pawn, buy, and retail transactions
• Answer incoming calls per company standards
• Effectively communicate to customers the legal aspects of the pawn and buy transactions
• Communicate effectively with fellow coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools
• Partner with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience and work environment
• Successfully complete assigned training
• Other related duties, as assigned

Requirements

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this role. The minimum qualifications include:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 18 years of age (Minimum 21 years of age in WA)
• Entrepreneurial spirit
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and work with people, team oriented
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently
• Cash handling experience preferred
• Knowledge of jewelry and general merchandise preferred
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills including verbal, non-verbal and active listening
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent work ethic and strong business sense
• Ability to work in multiple locations, as needed
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays; based on business needs
• Computer literate and able to operate common office machines
• Ability to work with firearms as needed

Work Environment

The work location is primarily indoors, with occasional requirements to assist a customer on the exterior of the building or to retrieve products stored in exterior storage buildings or other areas.

The role involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting, with frequent bending in various directions and lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 70 pounds.
