Retail Sales Associate - 2366

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business.

About the role

The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates thrive on customer engagement, assist with inquiries and problem resolution, and work with a wide variety of merchandise including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations). This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity.

Actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Pay

$13.00 to $16.00 per hour, plus an easily achievable commission structure that pays up to 8% on transactions. Commission could average an additional $5.27 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Commission details: Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. More details are provided during the interview process.

Schedule

Most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many stores are closed on Sundays. Schedule is flexible based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and recommend financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and merchandise displays.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handle cash and negotiable items following company policies and procedures.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete assigned training and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified (where applicable).
• Ability to assist customers outside the building, including retrieving products from exterior storage.
• Strong desire to work with people and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
• Must be able to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
