Retail Sales Associate - 2975

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business.

About the role

The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates thrive on engaging with customers and assist with inquiries and problem resolution. The role involves working with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

The position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non-management open/close procedures.
• Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains the display of merchandise.
• Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Effectively communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully completes assigned training.
• Other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Must be able to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Pay

Hourly rate: $17.13 to $18.22 per hour.

Commission structure: Up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $3.13 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Pawnbrokers can earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance.

Schedule

Most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many stores are closed on Sundays. Schedule is flexible based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
