Retail Sales Associate - 2215

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business.

About the role

The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates thrive on customer engagement, assist with inquiries, and resolve issues. The role involves working with a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

This full-time position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Actual pay depends on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and recommend financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and merchandise displays.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Handle cash and negotiable items following established procedures.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete assigned training and other related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of performing duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• Assist customers outside the building (e.g., parking lots) or retrieve products from exterior storage.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work in multiple locations as needed.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and office machines.

Pay

$10.00 to $13.00 per hour, plus commission. Associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $3.18 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Schedule

Most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many locations are closed on Sundays. Schedule is flexible based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.

Commission Plan

Pawnbrokers can earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Details are provided during the interview process.
