Retail Sales Associate - 2639

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business.

About the role

The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates thrive on customer engagement and assist with inquiries and problem resolution. The role involves working with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations). This full-time position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain merchandise displays.
• Perform sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle all cash and negotiable items per company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicate the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete assigned training.
• Assist customers outside the building (e.g., parking lots, exterior storage) as needed.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate; able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Pay

$14.00 to $15.00 per hour, plus commission. Retail Sales Associates can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, averaging an additional $2.53 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Actual pay is based on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Schedule

Most stores open at 9:00 AM and close at 6:00 PM; many locations are closed on Sundays. Schedule is flexible based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
