About the role

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. Associates greet, engage, and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions, and assist with customer inquiries and problem resolution.

The position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Pay

$10.00 to $14.00 per hour plus commission. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $1.87 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance.

Schedule

Most stores open at 9AM and close at 6PM; many stores are closed on Sundays. Must be able to work a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and recommend financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and merchandise displays.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Handle cash and negotiable items following established procedures.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete assigned training and other related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• Strong desire to work with people and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform basic math calculations proficiently.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.
