Retail Sales Associate - 2239
We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business.
About the role
The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates thrive on customer interaction, assist with inquiries and problem resolution, and work with a wide variety of merchandise including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations). This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity.
Pay ranges from $10.00 to $14.00 per hour, with an easily achievable commission structure that pays up to 8% on transactions—potentially adding an average of $3.34 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Perform non-management open/close procedures.
- Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and merchandise displays.
- Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Handle all cash and negotiable items following company policies and regulatory standards.
- Answer incoming calls per company standards.
- Communicate the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
- Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
- Complete assigned training.
- Assist customers in exterior areas (parking lots, property boundaries) or retrieve products from exterior storage.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- Minimum age: 18 years old.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in basic math calculations.
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
- Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Computer literate; able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Schedule
Most stores open at 9:00 AM and close at 6:00 PM; many locations are closed on Sundays. Schedule is flexible based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
Commission Plan
Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Additional details are provided during the interview process.
