Retail Sales Associate - 2234
We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business.
About the role
The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates thrive on engaging with customers and assist with inquiries and problem resolution. The role involves working with a wide variety of jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).
The position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities
- Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Performs non-management open/close procedures.
- Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains merchandise displays.
- Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Handles all cash and negotiable items per company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Answers incoming calls per company standards.
- Communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
- Partners with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience.
- Completes assigned training.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- May assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
- Minimum age: 18 years old.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic math calculations.
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
- Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Computer literate; able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Pay
$10.00 to $14.00 per hour, plus commission. Associates can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, averaging an additional $4.67 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Commission details are provided during the interview process.

Schedule
Most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many stores are closed on Sundays. Flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
