About the role

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. Associates greet, engage, and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. They thrive on customer engagement, assist with inquiries and problem resolution, and work with a wide variety of merchandise including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

The position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and merchandise displays.
• Perform sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle all cash and negotiable items following company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicate the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete assigned training.
• Assist with tasks such as retrieving products from exterior storage or assisting customers in parking lots.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Pay

$10.00 to $14.00 per hour, plus commission. Associates can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, averaging an additional $1.00 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Commission details are provided during the interview process.

Schedule

Most stores open at 9:00 AM and close at 6:00 PM; many locations are closed on Sundays. Schedule is flexible based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
