About the role

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will prepare, compound, and dispense medications while ensuring safe, accurate, and timely therapy. This role offers collaboration with healthcare professionals, support for pharmacy operations, and contributions to outstanding patient outcomes in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, dispense, and compound medication under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Provide prescription support services to ensure safe, appropriate, effective, and efficient delivery of medication therapy.
• Review and interpret prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
• Prepare and dispense the appropriate amount of medication.
• Deliver medications accurately to patients.
• Answer phones, accept prescriptions, and communicate with patients in the waiting area.
• Assist with inventory, maintain a clean work environment, and perform administrative duties as assigned.
• Follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support pharmaceutical care activities, complete pharmacy billing, record keeping, reporting, inventory management, and arrange medication delivery.

Requirements

• Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.
• Incumbents in Arizona must provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on-the-job training.
• Strong customer service focus and superior problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Proficiency and experience with third-party claims adjudication and claims rejection reconciliation.
• Proficiency and experience with non-sterile, sterile, and hazardous drug compounding.
• Work experience demonstrating analytical ability, judgment, and interpersonal skills in pharmacy or healthcare.
• Experience and proficiency with computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) or comparable programs.

Pay

Hire-on incentive up to $2,500 available. Weekend shift differential of $1/hour flat rate and an 18% night shift differential when applicable.

Schedule

Variable schedule with 8-10-hour shifts. Shifts are 7:00 AM–8:00 PM Monday through Friday and 8:00 AM–6:00 PM on weekends. Specific shifts and days worked will vary based on departmental needs.
