About the role

Responsibilities
- Supports the pharmacy department in inventory, preparation, distribution, compounding, processing of medications and supplies, specialty medications, and medication histories.
- Assists with medication processing tasks such as answering telephones, taking refill orders, entering orders into the system, preparing medications for pharmacist check, and preparing for disbursement/shipment/delivery.
- Handles supplies, stocks prepackaged items, maintains inventory, delivers supplies, and maintains records.
- May assist in bulk compounding and preparation of IV solutions.
- Works with pharmacy staff to minimize medication errors.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Indiana Pharmacy Tech-In Training OR Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy
- Pharmacy Technician National Certification within one year of hire, unless enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy or an ASHP/ACPE accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
- Absence of criminal history related to drug-related activities
- Strong mathematical calculation skills
- Ability to learn basic pharmacy technician skills in assigned areas and work under close supervision or under clearly defined procedures
- Ability to learn effective written and communication skills
- Ability to learn and execute customer service skills
- Basic proficiency in typing and using Microsoft Office applications
