Retail Pharmacy Manager

Work Life Balance

Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some exceptions based on clinic needs. No nights, weekends, and closed on most federal holidays.

Essential Job Functions

• Support and educate patients on their medications.
• Manage staff pharmacist and technicians, if applicable.
• Motivate, inspire, and develop the pharmacy staff by leveraging strengths and addressing knowledge gaps.
• Increase knowledge through education and training.
• Oversee pharmacy operations including patient safety, professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, personnel management, inventory management, financial profitability, loss prevention, and workflow management.
• Stay current with HIPAA and fraud, waste, and abuse credentialing.
• Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Awareness and compliance with local facility policies.

Requirements

• Required Education & Licenses: Bachelor of Science or PharmD in Pharmacy from an accredited university, plus required licensing/credentialing/certification as per federal and state regulations.
• Prior management experience in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred but not required.
• Three years of related pharmacy experience.
• Immunization certification is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional patient service skills.
• Physical Requirements: Standing for long periods, fine motor skills for keyboard and phone use, ability to hear, write, and speak effectively.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Previous management experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Knowledge of 340B pharmacy is a bonus but not required.
• Experience planning and implementing growth strategies for a pharmacy.
