About the role

The Personal Banker I position provides an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long-lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. This role processes teller transactions and works as a member of the platform staff to help customers understand and address their financial needs through consultative sales and service.

Responsibilities

  • Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in an assigned book of business through proactive outreach (in person, phone, or other channels).
  • Use a consultative approach to uncover and identify customer needs, tailoring recommendations, solutions, or advice.
  • Maintain working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered by Fifth Third Bank.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure customer needs are met and problems are resolved.
  • Analyze customer credit data and financial information to align solutions with their needs.
  • Provide customer support to reinforce the value of current and new technology.
  • Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines.
  • Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, modeling ethical behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 6 months of customer service experience, or a college degree, or equivalent military experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with new customers and deepen existing ones.
  • Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication.
  • Exhibits business acumen and sound decision-making skills.
  • SAFE Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).

The base salary for this position reflects the range of salary levels for this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries vary based on factors such as role, skillset, experience, education, and geographic location.
