Retail Peripherals Software Technical Program Manager
About the Role
HP Retail and Industrial Solutions Business is expanding its portfolio of well-designed, robust peripheral hardware. The Peripheral Technical Program Manager (TPM) will deliver features and software for our POS and peripheral hardware, serving as the primary technical liaison between HP and peripheral vendors and customers. This role involves setting specifications, defining test plans, solving technical problems, and working with Product Management to communicate product value to customers. The TPM will also engage directly with customers to address questions and resolve issues.
Responsibilities
- Manages and leads cross-functional programs involving engineering development and implementation for product or service offerings.
- Oversees logistics for parts, builds, and prototypes while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Develops and directs schedules, critical deliverables, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Ensures progress against established plans and adjusts schedules or resources based on business needs.
- Manages procedural compliance, safety practices, and maintenance for new and existing equipment.
- Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to stakeholders; collaborates on solutions to meet budgets and roadmaps.
- Follows up on open action items from trials to ensure resolution.
- Drives innovation, new technologies, and quality initiatives in manufacturing and engineering.
- Implements best practices through documentation control policies and procedures.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members.
Requirements
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience.
- Typically 7-10 years of experience in engineering development, project planning, people management, or related fields.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $116,150 to $182,400 USD annually, with additional opportunities for bonus and/or equity (applies to United States candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
