Retail Merchandising Support Associate, Westmoreland Mall - Part Time
About the Role
As a Merchandising Colleague—also known as a Front of House Colleague—you’ll play a critical role in delivering a seamless, inspiring in-store experience. You will be responsible for executing merchandise movement and placement strategies, enhancing the visual appeal of the sales floor, maintaining well-organized and shoppable displays, and ensuring that pricing and promotional signage is accurate and up to date. Your attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence will directly impact our customers’ experience. You’ll be a visible and welcoming presence on the floor, greeting customers with genuine hospitality and offering assistance to ensure they feel seen, supported, and valued.
Collaboration is key to this role. You’ll work closely with colleagues across departments to meet shared goals, support sales, and contribute to a culture of hospitality, positivity, and making every customer feel welcome by greeting them with a smile and offering your help whenever needed.
Responsibilities
- Execute merchandise movement and placement strategies to enhance visual appeal of the sales floor
- Maintain well-organized and shoppable displays
- Ensure pricing and promotional signage is accurate and up-to-date
- Greet customers with genuine hospitality and offer assistance
- Update mannequins, reset floor layouts, and align presentation with company directives
- Offer a warm welcome, make eye contact, and engage in friendly, personal conversations with customers
- Actively listen to customer needs and provide thoughtful assistance to build lasting relationships
- Maintain a shoppable space by recovering the floor and fitting rooms, updating signs and pricing, replenishing merchandise, and supporting merchandise moves
- Promote the Loyalty program and open new credit accounts
- Use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions and enhance the shopping experience
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to drive sales and elevate the customer experience
- Meet daily sales goals and participate in sales-boosting events
- Reorganize the department, restock merchandise, and prepare the space for the next day
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
- Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English
- Ability to create connections with customers and help the store achieve sales goals
- Ability to foster a welcoming, friendly environment for customers and colleagues
- Ability to learn about store products and provide expert guidance to customers
- Responsible for acquiring new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits
- Ability to use point-of-sale technology and digital tools effectively
Essential Physical Requirements
- Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands
- Standing for at least two consecutive hours
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
- Reaching, including above eye level
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers
Schedule
Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. All schedules include weekend shifts. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
