Retail Loss Prevention Detective

About the role

You’ll complete the daily tasks required for Store Loss Prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. This role involves conducting apprehensions within established policies, communicating with store Associates on damage and shrink initiatives, and identifying and resolving internal and external theft.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies
• Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers
• Promote a culture of honesty and integrity; maintain confidentiality
• Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources
• Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned
• Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity
• Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and timely
• Maintain appropriate evidence and demonstrate understanding of law enforcement procedures
• Professionally participate in legal activities as needed (e.g., police calls)
• Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs
• Encourage Associate use of shrink reduction resources
• Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment

• Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors
• Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs
• 0-2 years of retail or security experience

Pay

This position has a starting pay range of $15.92 to $20.40 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
