Retail Golf Equipment Sales Lead
About the role
The Lead has a direct impact on both the execution of brand standards and the teammate experience. With the guidance of the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager, the Lead is the in-store expert of their business/department, focused on delivering the best service to customers and providing direction to teammates. This role differentiates itself through leadership by example, empathy, resilience, optimism, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Support building and hiring a strong team by observing in-store interviews and department tours.
- Build a people-first culture by connecting with every teammate to foster mutual trust, respect, and contribute to the store’s recognition culture.
- Plan, organize, and control operations 30 days out with guidance from the Assistant Store Manager, including workforce alignment for daily assignments, game plans, projects, or store events.
- Strategically leverage teammates to ensure brand standards are met, programs and processes are executed daily, and tasks are delegated based on priority.
- Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards, including floor sets, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment.
- Assist the store leadership team with general supervision in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Train teammates on company procedures and programs, including onboarding new teammates and cross-training current teammates.
- Prioritize coaching and developing oneself and others, providing hands-on coaching and explaining the "why" behind tasks, plans, and processes (e.g., Protection Plans, Scorecards, Loss Prevention).
- Lead by example to support the organization’s vision and help teammates understand how their responsibilities align with organizational goals and customer experience.
- Create an inclusive store environment where everyone (teammates and customers) feels welcome, safe, and treated with respect.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all Company information.
- Support the team across the store with an all-hands-on-deck approach.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior retail sales experience (or customer-focused experience) preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items up to 35 lbs. repetitively (up to 25 times per hour).
- Ability to work extended periods (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
- Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet using a ladder, aerial lifting device, or platform.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods (up to 2 hours continuously).
Pay
Targeted pay range: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour. Starting rate may vary based on factors including location, experience, and position offered. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location.
