Retail Generalist Associate - Circle Store

About the Role

Goodwill of Colorado is seeking candidates with production experience (e.g., retail, restaurant, hospitality, manufacturing) and cash handling skills to join as Retail Generalist Associates. This full-time position offers career growth opportunities and the chance to serve the community. Pay is $17.45 per hour, and open availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Crosstrain in other departments and act as a backup for various areas as needed.
• Work with supervisors to identify staffing shortages and support retail store goals.
• Accept and handle donations, ensuring items are treated with care.
• Sort, inspect, and price donated items based on quality and value.
• Operate equipment like pallet jacks, walkie stackers, and forklifts for material handling.
• Keep the sales floor well-stocked and organized according to store policies.
• Process accurate cashier transactions using a point-of-sale system.
• Assist customers with product questions and provide excellent service.
• Ensure production and sales areas are clean and organized.
• Process E-Commerce products efficiently.
• Rotate and remove unsold products to maintain fresh inventory.
• Contribute to a safe working environment for staff and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of experience in retail, product placement, or merchandising desired.
• 1 year of cash handling experience preferred.
• High attention to detail and decision-making ability.
• Adaptability to changing schedules and tasks.
• Ability to obtain certifications for equipment operation (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and perform prolonged standing, bending, and lifting.
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime.
• Effective communication skills with customers and colleagues.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing, walking, and repetitive movements (5-8 hours).
• Frequent lifting of light to moderate weights (up to 44 lbs), pushing/pulling, reaching, twisting, and bending (3-4 hours).
• Occasional heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs), kneeling, squatting, and climbing (1-2 hours).
• Continuous hearing, vision, and speaking requirements.
